New York Minute

Ok, there’s a Starbucks on the next block
Wait this will be my third coffee of the day -
Should I just do it?
Ugh, I can’t.
But I’m so tired!
No, I’ll be okay.
Wow, look at that cute dog!
Ooh, his owner’s cute
Gotta avoid eye contact -
Don’t want him to think I’m crazy.
I’m gonna walk over to 5th.
This way I’ll avoid the people traffic on Broadway
Oh but I wanted to stop at Sephora on the way home…
I guess I’ll just go tomorrow
To the one near work
Gross, what’s that smell?
Oh, right, it’s Wednesday night
Those stupid garbage piles…
Oh no, another starbucks coming up.
Divert your eyes, Divert your eyes!
That building is so tall.
Was it always there?
Maybe they just took the scaffolding off…
Is that why it looks different?
Shit, 15 seconds on the light at the next corner
Am I gonna make it?
Better make a run for it.
Phew, that was close.
Nothing worse than waiting on a two way street corner…
Yikes, that girls about to run into me
Quick! Veer right!
Oops, she went that way too.
Last minute left!
Oh no, she had the same thought.
“Sorry about that”
How rude.
She didn’t even acknowledge me.
Classic New Yorker.
Oh good, there’s a Duane Reade.
I need to pick up some milk, right?
Oh hell no.
Not waiting in that line.
Ugh, I HATE New York.
I’ll guess I’ll just go by my apartment.
Uch but that one is ALWAYS out of 2 percent…
I guess I’ll just walk the extra three blocks to the other one.
My life is so hard.
F it, if I’m gonna make that walk,
I better get a coffee.
Where’s the nearest one?
This ALWAYS happens!
Why can’t they ACTUALLY just have Starbucks on every corner?
Oh ok relax, there’s one just one avenue over.
This light is red…
How fast is that car coming?
Can I make it?
I’m going for it…
“BEEEEEEEEEP”
What a thrill.
Just half a block more.
Better get my wallet out so I can minimize my time in the store.
Oh, that homeless man just saw me take out my wallet…
I better give him a dollar.
“Here you go”.
I’m such a good person.
I hope he’s not using that to buy drugs…
But either way,
I’m still a good person, right?
Finally, I’m here.
Wow, I love how empty it is at this time of night.
“What can I get for you?”
“Hi, can I have a Grande Americano with extra ice?”
Should I have gotten a Venti?
Nah, then I wouldn’t sleep well.
“Thanks”
Oh, wow, someone’s holding the door for me!
“Thank you!”
Wow, New Yorkers are so nice.
I hope there aren’t delays on the subways right now.
Wait, where’s my metro card?
Oh ok, it’s right there.
Wow, the Empire State Building is so pretty tonight.
God, I love New York.

Growing Up

We all set off to find ourselves back then
With sentiment and lust driving our minds
The pain to come could not be ever guessed
Naivety controlled our flesh and bones

With sentiment and lust driving our minds
We made every mistake there was to make.
Now they appear in the car rear view mirror
As specks of paint on the canvas of our souls

We made every mistake there was to make,
To err is human was all they could say
When finally, we climbed out of the hole,
We saw the world for what it really was.

To err is human was all they could say,
Now on high ground we stand with pride and joy,
But in our heart we know the fate to come
To err again is inevitable.

We all set back to find ourselves back then,
To err again is inevitable

The History of my Love Life According to Taylor Swift

There’s something bout the way, the street looks when it’s just rained,
'Cause when you’re fifteen and someone tells you they love you, you’re gonna believe them,
And you’ve got a smile that can light up this whole town.

There she goes, so perfectly, the kind of flawless i wish i could be,
And the story of us looks a lot like a tragedy now.
You have pointed out my flaws again, as if i don’t already see them,
All you’re ever gonna be is mean.

And the cynics were outraged, screaming “this is absurd”.
That night we danced like we knew our lives would never be the same.

You stood there in front of me just close enough to touch,
Gives me something that’ll haunt me when you’re not around,
You gave me roses, and i left them there to die.

The lingering question kept me up, 2 AM who do you love?
I roll my eyes, you pull me in, i’m not much for dancing, but for you i did.
Well maybe it’s me, and my blind optimism to blame,
Don’t you think nineteen’s too young to be messed with?

But on a Wednesday, in a cafe, I watched it begin again,
And right there where we stood was holy ground,
You almost ran the red 'cause you were looking over at me...
Now you call me up again just to break me like a promise,
Time won’t fly it’s like i’m paralyzed by it.
Didn’t you calm my fears with a Cheshire cat smile?
I'm a crumpled up piece of paper lying here, 'cause I remember it,
All too well.

I think I am finally clean.
We’re happy, free, confused and lonely in the best way
I don’t know about you, but i’m feeling 22.

Well you were never a saint, I love your shades of wrong.
These are the hands of fate, you’re my Achilles heel,
This is the golden age of something good and right and real.
One night, he wakes, strange look on his face,
Pauses and says, you’re my best friend.
You are in love, true love.

The True Origins of Everyone's Favorite Monster (Final)

Long, long ago, in a kingdom far, far away, lived a little princess everyone knew as Cookie. Cookie was the sweetest princess in all the land. She was a little rough around the edges, but wonderfully soft at heart.

Just a week before she turned 18, King Chocolate and Queen Chip told Princess Cookie that she must choose a suitor before her birthday, or they would be forced to choose one for her. Cookie didn’t want to be rushed or forced; she just wanted to find true love in its time, just like any good princess would prefer. The only solution she saw was to run away, so she packed her essentials, and ran deep into Rainbow forest.

She ran straight down Red Road, through Orange Oasis, past the Yard of Yellow and the Green Graveyard. When she got to Blue Boulevard, she needed to stop and catch her breath. Not a minute after she sat down, she was greeted by a handsome furry creature, offering her a bluebell and kissing her hand. She looked up into his eyes, and fell immediately in love.

Princess Cookie and the blue fluffy monster then spoke for hours, until the sun set over Rainbow forest, and it was becoming dark. The princess told the monster she wished to bring him back to the castle and marry him, but knew her parents would disapprove, as he was not a handsome prince. The blue fluffy monster insisted that since their love was true, her parents would understand.

When they arrived back in the palace, and Cookie’s parents were overjoyed that she was alive and well. Of course, just as she had suspected, they said the furry blue monster was in no way suitable for a princess. They promptly locked the furry blue monster in the deepest dungeon of the castle.

Princess Cookie wept for two straight days, until her parents forced her to dry her tears and meet her suitors. One by one, young men came to try and win Cookie's heart, but none seemed to fill the void left by her missing furry blue monster. Her parents finally couldn't take another second of her agony, and gave her their blessing to marry the furry blue monster. They released him from the dungeon, and on the day of her 18th birthday, Cookie and the monster married.

A few months later, the princess discovered she was expecting a baby. The couple was overjoyed, and eagerly awaited the arrival of their child. One day, Cookie woke up feeling a little crummy, and was rushed to the royal emergency room. With her fluffy blue prince by her side, she gave birth to a tiny fluffy blue baby.

When the baby was wrapped up safely in her arms, she peered deep into its eyes and wondered aloud what they should name it. Before either of them could utter another word, the baby gazed back at its mother with wide eyes, opened its little mouth and spoke in a tiny voice, “Me want cookie!” and from that moment on, the three lived happily ever after.

While the Seasons Changed

These desks are made of
Wood as dead as autumn trees
As November fades

All winter I sat
Finally caught your eye and winked
That’s when the spark caught

When the snow melted
With the petals we blossomed
So fast and so strong

The warm sun had us
Wrapped around its fingers and
It was decided

Through dying trees and
Storms so rough the sun we’ll feel
Forever on us

Play Time

Walk in and don the tiny shorts and sexy skin-tight shirt,
You’ll need to show all that you’ve got to make it big in here.
Stretch it out and loosen up, otherwise it’s gonna hurt,
Now take a deep breath, pop a mint, and swallow any fear.

Flash a smile at your partner, then glimpse at your reflection,
Butterflies got you all tingly, but it’s time to start the show.
Last thing before you start to play – don’t forget protection,
Deep breath, and start your warm-up, to begin just take it slow.

Now it’s coming right at you so call out like you want it,
All the practice you’ve put in will better your performance,
Be loud, be proud, you know the way, you have the talent – flaunt it.
Let the adrenaline own you; live solely for these moments

And when you let the ball drop, don’t let your spark diminish,
Just move on to the next point, toss, step, hit and finish.
